If you live in Indian and never ate Aloo Paratha then believe me, you will surprise many. Aloo Paratha is one of most popular breakfast, brunch or in fact anytime meal in India.
It is very easy and quick to make once you practice to make Parathas and at the same time Parathas are very fulfilling and satisfying for the one who eats it.
Ingredients
3-4 Potatoes medium (boiled)
4 big cups wheat flour
Salt as per taste
To be mixed
1 tbsp red chilli powder
Salt as per your taste
1 tbsp fennel seeds
1 tbsp Garam masala powder
1 tbsp Coriander powder
1 tbsp Amchur powder (Dry mango powder)
Serving Ingredients
1/2 small bowl clarified butter (Ghee)
Curd/Pickle/Chutney/Sauce (For serving alongwith Aloo Paratha) (Optional)
Butter (To apply on top of Parathas while serving) (Optional)
Vertically Sliced Onion (To serve along with Paratha) (Optional)
Green chilli (Uncut or Vertically slit to server with Aloo Paratha)(Optional)
Recipe Steps for Aloo Paratha | Potato stuffed Indian flatbread
First kneed the flour by slowly adding water as shown. Keep adding water as much it is required for kneading.
DON'T ADD water in ONE GO. Add slowly as required.
Add little salt and little clarified around 1-2 small tbsp butter(ghee) in the flour while kneading as shown.
Once done, cover the kneaded flour for 10-20 minutes.
Peel the boiled potatoes and mash with hands to create stuffing.
In mashed poatatoes, add all the ingredients mentioned under 'To be mixed' and mix it all well.
Take some flour from the kneaded flour and create Paratha layer as shown in the video.
Put stuffing in paratha layer and close it tightly as shown in the video.
Make sure it is closed well so that while creating paratha stuffing shouldn't come out.
Take some part of kneeded floor and create paratha layer slowly with the help of hand or roller pin.
Put a flat frying pan on gas and sprinkle little clarified butter (ghee) on pan as shown.
Once heated put paratha on the pan.
Let it fry/roast till it start getting light brown from bottom.
Keep the flame on medium else paratha will burn.
Once light brown from bottom flip the paratha slowly as shown.
Keep pressing slowly as shown so that it gets cooked from all side. Let it cook till other side (bottom now ) starts getting brown.
Now our first paratha is ready. Remove it from the pan.
In nexr parathas slowly pour ghee (clarified butter) on sides as shown so that it gets cooked well from bottom with the help of ghee.
Repeat rest of the steps to cook another paratha. Cook remaining parathas in similar way.
Transfer it to the serving plate.
Serving
Put some butter over cooked paratha to make it tastier.
Enjoy your Aloo paratha hot with curd, home made riata, chutney or sauce.
