Ingredients for Black Pepper Lemon chicken fry
Cooking Ingredients
500g chicken (good if marinated in little salt for 1-2 hours)
1 spoon Ginger Garlic paste
1-2 medium Cinnamon stick
4 whole black pepper
8-10 black pepper crushed (i.e. 1-1.5 tbsp crushed black pepper)
Salt as per taste (including salt used in marination)
Lemon juice of 1 medium size lemon
Small butter cube
2-3 tbsp edible oil
1 spoon corn flour (As a substitute, all purpose flour i.e. Maida can be used)
4-5 green chilli (vertically cut preferred)
8-10 curry leaves
5-6 fresh coriander leaves
1 small bowl curd
2-3 spoon water (to mix with corn flour)
Serving ingredients(Optional)
1 Onion
3-4 green chilli (vertically cut preferred)
1-2 Lemon Wedges
Recipe Steps for Black Pepper Lemon chicken fry
Take a non stick pan or wok. Add oil and butter in it. Keep the flame on medium high.
Once hot add black pepper and cinnamon stick. Let it heat for around 40-45 seconds.
Add curry leaves and let them heat for 20-30 seconds.
Add chicken pieces and spread them. Try ensuring that each one is touching base.
Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes till it start getting golden brown. Keep stirring in between.
Turn the flame to low medium and add ginger garlic paste into chicken. Cook for 1-2 minutes till raw smell goes away.
Add curd to chicken and mix well.
Add/Sprinkle salt.
Add crushed black pepper and mix it.
Add half of the lemon juice.
Cover the chicken and leave it for 5-6 minutes on low medium heat. Stir once in between.
Add green chilli and mix.
Add little water to corn flour and mix well.
Add corn flour in the chicken and mix.
Coat the chicken pieces well and add remaining lemon juice.
Let it cook on medium high till chicken pieces are tender and water evaporates.
Add fresh coriander leaves
Give it a mix.
Switch off the flame.
Transfer the Black Pepper Lemon Chicken fry to serving plate.
Serve it along with onions, green chili and lemon.
