Chocolate Idli Cake
Chocolate Idli Cake recipe uses very simple and ingredients which are very easily accessible and available at your nearby store. This Bourbon Cake or Oreo Cake recipe is a dessert which you can make it very easily and quickly. You can store it in refrigerator and then you can have it anytime you feel like eating it. Moreover you don't need any oven for this cake recipe and you can just use any cooker or Idli Cooker to make delicious Chocolate Idli Cake.

Note: Though we have used Idli Cooker but you can also use small sized bowls and side dish plates with curves and use it in a normal pressure cooker.


Ingredients for Chocolate Idli Cake


  • Biscuits(dark chocolate–flavoured biscuits with a chocolate buttercream filling) [We used Bourbon here]
  • Biscuits (chocolate wafers with a sweet creme filling in between) [We used Oreo here]
  • Sugar - 1 Spoon (or as per taste)
  • Milk - 1/2 Glass
  • Gems - 5-6 to Garnish one one each Idli cake.
  • Chocolate Syrup - To Garnish

Recipe Steps for Chocolate Idli Cake

  • Take a mixer Jar.
  • Break and add Bourbon biscuits in it.

  • Break and add Oreo biscuits in it.

  • Add Sugar.

  • Grind it to powder.

  • Transfer it to bowl.

  • Add some Milk (Don't add in one go).

  • Mix it well.

  • Check consistency as shown.

  • Add more milk if needed. We used only half glass milk.
  • Apply Some oil on idly stand slots as shown.

  • Now pour our chocolate batter in the slots.

  • Fill all slots.

  • Add water in Idli cooker.

  • Put Idli stand as shown

  • Close the cooker and switch on the flame on medium.

  • Leave the cooker on medium flame for 15 minutes.
  • Open Cooker and Check if our Chocolate Idli Cake idlis are ready ? If not ready then steam for some more time.

  • Switch off the flame and leave the Idlis for sometime (around 5 minutes) to cool down
  • Take out Stand from cooker.

Serving Chocolate Idli Cake

  • Transfer Chocolate Idlis to serving plate with the help of spoon.

  • Garnish Chocolate idlis by some Chocolate Syrup.

  • You will find the Chocolate Syrup to apply on Chocolate Idli Cake easily in some nearby grocery store or supermarket.
